Re: VX-4200: Remote Head Mount?
Apparently this model was never meant to have its head remote mounted. I'm going to get some 18-pin FFC connectors and a cables and see what I can do. Maybe make two small circuits with a DB25's and the FFC connectors. Then connect a DB25 cable between them to enable me to remote the head. We'll see...

Re: TK-2180 - Trunking to Full Conventional?
I almost bought one of those years ago and had the same question. I -think- I recall that they can't be but I'm not 100%.

VX-4200: Remote Head Mount?
The board glitched my post so I'll be brief this time... Before I go ripping out an installed radio I'm wondering if the VX-4200's head is remote mountable? Is it a simple RJ11 or RJ45 cable between head and body or it can't be done? I cannot find any references on the Web about remote kits for this...

Re: TK390 Programming password
Unless you can try the cable on another radio you can't be certain it's OK. I would try another baud rate, if you can, but if your Com port and baud rate are good then it's either the cable or the radio.

Re: Programming VX-4204 w/Moto RIB?
Well, I risked it. It works. Funny thing though... when you turn on the Motorola RIB the vx-4204 starts power cycling repeatedly until you actually start the download/upload. It's a little unnerving, but it does work.

Programming VX-4204 w/Moto RIB?
Is it possible to program a VX-4204 mobile with a Motorola RIB? I see the schematics for the cables on batlabs but I'm wondering if this setup works for the VX-4200 mobiles. Anyone using this setup? Thanks.

Help: VX-4204 Mic schematic
Anyone got a schematic for a VX-4204 standard mic? I believe the mic's # was MH-25A8J and has been superseded by MH-67A8J . Thanks.

Upgrading MRK flashcode?
I'm still new to GE/Ericsson/Macom radios so go easy on me guys. I don't know if this is all one would need to tell the flashcode revision but my MRK's current flash ID is 4A4 and the "radio software file name" is M2G33400. I've got access to a flashcode file of M2G46402.BIZ. I beli...

Re: M-RK battery pinout?
Finally found my Fluke and it appears the top contact is the thermistor/resistor, bottom is negative, and the singular contact is positive. Now I'm just trying to figure to use my Motorola tri-chem Jedi/Saber/XTS3 charger for it.

Narrowbanding a vhf MRK?
What's needed to change a (vhf) MRK to do narrowband? Is it a hardware change or flashcode upgrade? Thanks.

In case you don't get an answer here I would ask in the GE, Orion, or MRK groups at Yahoo groups. Good luck.

Re: M-RK battery pinout?
Just want to clarify... I'm talking about the 3 contacts on the side bottom of the battery. I know one is +, the other -, and one must be for the thermistor but how would I check that?

M-RK battery pinout?
Due to a move I somehow lost my charger for my MRK, and I can't find my damn Fluke meter either! :x :x I suspect I could rig something up with my Motorola charger but would like to know the pinout on the MRK's batteries before I kill something. :) Would appreciate it if someone can tell me what pins...
