from my basic background in physics, it would be simply impossible to transmit mutliple CTCSS (PL) tones at once... if you were to transmit two tones together, it would sound like DTMF. which is Dual Tone Multi Frequency. better yet... im curious if u transmitted DTMF with two PL tones if it would w...

i'll reply to my own message here... i spoke to Vertex USA Repair... they are allowing me to ship the radio to them to be upgraded... dunno about cost tho... i also inquired about the parts to re-case the radio, but they said $35 to diagnose, $75/hr to repair... i don't get that one... BUT... im goi...

Firmware Upgrade on VX-537

ok, after my VX-537 Review, i went out and brought a Cimarron VMDE-200 ANI board, it should be here in a few days... HOWEVER... it requests Firmware 1.04 on the 537... i have 1.03... how can i get an upgrade, or will it just work with 1.03? please help, no real vertex buffs out in my neck of the woo...

i had a problem with a FTL7011 once.. i fried two of them utilizing a Pentium computer, i purchased a 386 based 15Mhz PC, and it worked great... fixed the fried radios too...

i had the same problem when i was using a pentium class computer... i switched to a 386, and the problem was resolved.. try using a slower computer, it may be too fast...
