Re: 730/830 low power?
It is not possible to adjust the power via a button or with a per channel setting. Sorry, but I have tried.

Re: 730/830 low power?
Ryan,
Yes it is adjusted inside the radio. I can't remember which POT it is right now, but I'm sure someone on here does. I will look tonight when I get home.

tk-8180/7180 question
Hi all,
Does anyone know if the tk-7180/8180 radios can be dual-banded? I see that they have remote heads, but dual-band info I can't seem to find.
Thanks,
Phil KK6PE

Re: 99-Channel Kenwood TK-730G
I recently got a "new" Kenwood TK-730G off of eBay and was under the impression that it covered 136-160 MHz. However, when I attempted to program it for various amateur frequencies n the 144-146 MHz sub-band, the radio "beeped" on those channels. Am I "S.O.L." with tis...

Thanks for the help. The biggest problem I have right now is no power cords. I can get by with 32 channel. I don't really need 160 channels anyway. Does anyone have some used power cords cheap:-) (what else) lol Thanks, RoD[/quote] I'll see whatI can dig up. Do you need any of the 6-pin or the 15-pi...

Re: 830
You are correct on the EEPROMs. Change the head and deck to the 24c16. Same thing works on the 830. You will also need to remove 2 little SMD resistors. 1 from the deck and one from the head in order to program the radio. Do a search here and you will find exactly the info you need. Peter. Also, re...

ICOM IC-F621tr software question
Does anyone have experience with these radio's and software? I would like to program frequencies in several groups, but I don't have much in this area in the way of trunked systems. Any ideas?
Thank you,

tk-630/730/830 help
Yes they all did work for me at 1 time. It must be the EEPROMS, as that is the only thing I have changed. I will check the SMD's as well.

tk-630/730/830 help
I seem to have a problem. I have a tk-630, as well as a -730/830 dual band setup. Both of them do the same thing-blinking all segments upon powerup and then goes to "group 1 Channel 1" and blinks that along with the aux indicator. It will go into program mode just fine, though I can't read...

Re: TK-730 mounting ?
I have a 97 grand prix and was wondering where was a good place to mount the radio (tk-730H with remote head)? Just the main radio not the remote head. I was thinking under the seat or in the trunk. I also have another question I also need to mount a strobe light power supply. Can I run both of the...
