Re: Tk-790/TK-890 Dual Band Single Head Set up
Yes, just read the radio like normal. If it is a dual band, dual head, you can read and write from either head as well. Yes, you only get 160 channels total per zone. If you make up a file from scratch and just shoot it in the radio, make sure when you tell which radio is which, you have the bands co...

Ok, then what do I do? That's thing, I don't know what to do to retune to get the VCO to lock.

9673 HAM conversion question.
After searching every where, to find nothing. Can anyone tell me if a 242-9673 900Mhz radio can be easily taken down into the HAM band?

Type 1 TK-890 on HAM. Who can modify for me?
I have a TK-890 type 1(450-470) and it will not go below 444 without unlocking. I know there is a way to get this to not unlock below that, but I am not talented enough to retune it. Has anyone here done this before and if so, what would someone charge to retune mine? I would prefer someone with a s...

Re: Kenwood KRK-7DB question
On the caps of the 7DB's, one needs to say to control head and radio 2 and the other says to radio 1.The second radio (the one not connected to the control head) will need slight modifications to work properly.

Re: 8180 Signalling Decode & Outputs
So once set up like this, it did work? I was basing my answer on the way 2-tone decode works, and was assuming it would work the same with DTMF. So I was correct.

Re: TK-7180H
We have run into this with different radios. If you make a file up from scratch you have to make sure that you select the x180 "K" in the model setup box. If it gives that error with reading it, I would just do like in the last post, make one up from scratch, first just fill in the first ch...

Re: 8180 Signalling Decode & Outputs
Not sure about the DB-25, but the way you set it up for DTMF decode involves a few different settings. First go to DTMF settings and select decode. Put in the codes you want to decode. The zone has to be set for QT/DQT and optional signalling under audio control in Zone edit. Anything is this zone t...

Re: Tk-790/TK-890 Dual Band Single Head Set up
In a dual band setup, you have to modify radio 2. Radio 1 you do nothing too. I have a 690/890 DB setup, You have to remove, move jumpers and add 1 jumper between a point on each end of the radio. You do have to have the shorting pin on the rear on both radio for audio to the head.

Re: TK2200 Sound problems
We get a lot of these(UHF version, instead though), that will transmit but not receive and I believe it is a crystal they replace. I believe our repair cost to the customer is like $100.00 or so. It's not something we can do in house though.

Re: Need channel eprom part number, TK-630
The part number I found was 27C256BQ-JBY2 which is discontinued and replaced with 27C256QJPWJ which lists for $21.88. The description says IC (256K EPROM / FUJITSU) TK-830. The part number I have came out of the TK-730 book. There is a different part number for the same eprom in the 830 book. The ep...

Re: Need channel eprom part number, TK-630
I am talking about the larger eprom. Not being that familiar with the 30 series,I don't know which is which. Are the eproms just setup(DH/DB) specific or are they band(LB/VHF/UHF) specific? The eprom I bought for my 730 lists for $24.xx not the $35.xx that you listed, so just wondering. I'll get the...

Need channel eprom part number, TK-630
I bought some TK-630H's at HAMvention and they were set up to be the second radio of a dual band setup. I have modified them back to be a single band radio. They were both missing the channel eproms. They have the KCH-5 expanded chip in them, but not the channel prom. What I need is the part number f...

Re: tk2180 keypad unlock
You can't press the unlock on the keypad to unlock it? Never had this happen, I take it you don't know anybody that has a KMC-25 or 41? I'll see if I can figure it out tomorrow.
