Re: Orion hand held control head info wanted
I got my HHC installed on the Orion today. Installation was a snap with everything completed within an hour. I had to give my Orion a firmware uplift from G36.x as the HHC manual states the Orion series needs to be a G41.x or higher. I did this with system head attached, then swapped heads and blew ...

Orion reset issue
I have a functional VHF Orion installed with a SS2000-ERCSN1 and SVR-200U in my vehicle. Everything is powered from a Blue Sea 6 circuit fuse panel, fed with 6ga from the battery. Everything worked A-ok until I installed a Sho-Me signal stick and tried to power it from the SmartSiren. I assigned a s...

Looking forward to getting my HHC in the mail. Once it's here and working right, I'll throw another post up with thoughts and/or photos.

Re: Orion with Pyramid Repeater HELP!
I got mine to work yesterday after I dug up some notes I made years ago and confirmed with Ken's info above about the I/O settings...that's the good news. The bad news is the volume of the repeated audio varies with the control head volume control. I parsed this from the Orion list... The history of...

Astron RM-50M problem
*x-post from the 'lab* I got a free Astron 50A linear 12V supply that blows it's 120V fuse at power-up. There is nothing connected to the supply, so this is an internal problem. I know these supplies aren't the best, but it was free because of the problem...so I am willing to spend some time and mon...

TK-730 scan
I have a 32 channel VHF with the "deluxe" head that I enabled dual priority scan (P1 as selected channel and P2 as OpSel) but I can't seem to OpSel the P2 on any of the channels?
Am I missing something in the keystrokes on the head to make it happen?

Talkaround button for Orion control head?
I have a full button kit, but it's devoid of a button for talkaround.
Anyone have one that says "DIR" or "T/A" or similar?

Smart6- I got your PM and replied but I'll post it here as well. The SS is connected to the Orion with a shielded data cable that ships with the SS2000-ERCSN1 from the FS factory. It has a DB9 on the SS side, and a DB25 on the control head side. The DB25 plugs into the enhanced options cable downstr...

I've got an Orion/SS setup...just installed: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/jw1990/SS/SSinstall003.jpg I'm trying to figure out the siren end of things. The light controls work fine, as far as the System head firing the relays on the smart siren...however, the PA/airhorn/siren doesn't work. Th...

TK-7180/8180..any users here?
Looking hard at a set of them with remote kits, but nobody I know has them. Who's got 'em, and how do they compare to a MCS2000 or Spectra?

VX-424 VHF portable...any good?
Anyone have experience with this new unit? I see it covers down to 146 MHz, but does it go down to 144 MHz in the software?
Any input appreciated, especially soon...
