The schematic diagram in the manual doesn't show the pin numbers. The pins are labled TXD1, RXD1, AUX5, DEO, DI, ALT, 5V, E, AUX1, AUX3, AUX4, AUX2 DTMFIO, TXD0, RXD0. If you start at the middle pin, should be pin 8, it is ground. The AUX lines are configured in the programming software.

The accessory connectors on Uniden LMR radios never came fully loaded. They alwasy left them open for dealers choice. In the case of SMU4525KT there are only 3 pins wired from the factory. The SMU250KTS has two scan options. It does either group scan or system scan (in either conventional or trunking). If you use the menu key to activate scan it will scroll SYS or GRP. The problem is the RPV599Aplus software does not support USB adaptors. The software will only work with the old 9 pin serial ports.

Pin 1 is HOOK line / Pin 2 is +8V / Pin 3 is PTT / Pin 4 is MIC hi / Pin 5 is GND / Pin 6 is PCRX / Pin 7 is PCTX / Pin 8 has no connection.

RELM only purchased the Uniden models that were manufactured after 1997. Anything prior to that was dropped from support. But I know what is most likely the problem. The first thing to look at is the serial number of the radio. If it starts with an 8 or 9 then it must be programmed with the Uniden s...
