Turn radio off and turn it back on holding down the priority button and it will come up saying prog on display. press scan button and then go up and down the channels and press the 1 button to add the channel. to exit press priority button then 2.

SMP4004c software will only work on win98 and lower version windows. win2000 and higher wont work. My software did the same and I had to go to my port settings in control panel and reset them and check exactly which port it was on and tweek it on the software profile. Hope this helps you out.

Look on the back of the radio and if it says SM4150H then it is 160-174 range. If is is SM4150M it is 150-160 range.
