Re: Securing a repeater
LincolnMan, That is a difficult problem to resolve. The only thing that I could recommend that would allow you to use your current radios would be to switch to a new or one of the newer frequencies and install voice scramblers into all of your radios. The repeater should pass the scrambled data or v...

Re: DRC-200
I do not know if you ever got a reply or if you are still interested, but it is quite extensive. Capacitors on RX and TX VCOs, and RX and TX tuning circuits have to be changed. The VCO volts drop quickly below 450MHz on a stock unit. I used to work at RELM (25 years of my life), and was able to conv...

Nope, I thought a jumper was supposed to be installed then removed when you are done programming. That's what I've been doing. Thanks for the help Robert You can leave the programmer jumper in place on a 10 channel, unless it has been modified to a 16 channel. 10 channel MP will have a -15 or -16A ...

Re: RPV516A programming
Does anyone have a schematic of the programming cable used for this radio? Where would I find the software? I worked on a cable before I left RELM that used a UART that operated at a baud rate of 33Kbs. If it is the same one it will not be simple to duplicate. You might be able to purchase the prog...

OK, thanks Bill. If I can't get it working right I'll let you know. I have more experience with Motorola radios so I'll probably end up sending the radio to you to get fixed. I gotta let him know about it and I'll see what he wants to do. He told me if it's gonna cost a lot to fix he's just going t...

OK, cool. I got it programmed now also. I just got another RH250 from a firefighter that wants me to program it but it won't work right. When I turn it on the speaker makes a pop sound and the display won't light up. He said it used to make some low pitched beep sounds and the scan and priority lig...

OK, got it and it worked out good. I just got another Regency radio that looks just like this one(RH250) but it says XL2000 on the back. The FCC ID is ARU9PL XLH250B. Does this one use the same method for programming? Thanks Robert Yes, unless the microprocessor has been changed to make it a 16 cha...

Re: Uniden alternator noise
I guess this is the right place to ask since Uniden is now owned by RELM... I forget the model of the radio, but it is newer production, VHF, with an alpha display. Anyway, it gets alternator noise real bad, especiallly in GM vehicles. The noise in the speaker, and not in the tx audio. Removing the...

Re: Bendix King GMH
I'm in need of someone familiar with the GMH in regards to programming. Thank you Doug The GMH requires a programming cable and software that is only sold to BK dealers or to government agencies. There is a programming microphone but you would still need programming instructions. You may contact me...

I have a RELM4099 with the following symptoms: No PTT Receive OK No channel change No front push buttons work There is background noise like squelch is open, but if adjust squelch noise gets louder. What is causing all these problems? Potentially there many culprits. It could be as simple as progra...
