The Radio Information Board Login

Has something changed on this board lately? Recently I have been trying to login to this board and have been having a tough time even if i get in at all. I keep getting told that I " have exceeded the maximum number of login attempts " and then i get challenged to re-login with one of those HARD TO ...

Re: IDAS & D-STAR, the same or not?

I cant explain in detail but I can tell you they are totally different. DStar is an amateur radio digital interface for voice and data developed by JARL over in Japan. IDAS & NXDN were developed by Icom & Kenwood respectively and were developed for commercial useage as narrow band digital (12.5Khz a...

Re: Possible?: Mot RIB to Ericsson RIB

http://www.hallelectronics.com/getech/tq3370.htm

http://www.priceindustries.com/

They claim this adapter is on the price industries web site but i don't see any reference to it on their
unless i missed it somehow.

Re: Possible?: Mot RIB to Ericsson RIB

Is it possible to convert a Mot RIB to replace the GE/Ericsson TQ3310 or TQ3370? Thanks. I do not remember where I saw it but I have seen reference to an add on adapter for the TQ3370 to make it emulate a standard moto rib(not the smart rib), so it must be possible to go the other way but i have no...

VXR-9000U Reference Freq Adjust

Anyone have any experience doing this adjustment procedure on a VXR-9000U ??? I can get into the dealer alignment mode but when in the tab "TX PD Det." I cannot get the "TX PLL Ref Frequency ADJ" to work at all - simply can't get the repeater to key up on any of the tabbed adjustment frequencies in ...

Harris Unity XG-100 Receiver specs

Anyone out there in radio land have or can point me to an info source
for the receiver selectivity specs per band on this model?

I have googled and down loaded quite a few pdf docs but all seem to be
absent of this one aspect of receiver specs.

Re: 8 pin mic jack retaining nut tool ????

Thanks for the reply, however neither of those two tools in those links will do the job as the hex nut is made of a soft brass metal and with the needle nose pliers i have used i have already done some damage to the 4 slots. In addition this nut sits below the faceplate of the radio in a very narrow...

Vertex VXR-9000U DCS Turn Off Code Timing

OK - Using a Vertex VXR-9000U UHF repeater with a variety of Motorola HT's and Mobiles. I seem to have got the turn off code phase(120) and timing (200ms) right in the Vertex CE60 programing but still am able to hear in the motorola receiver(using an XTS5000 as a test radio) the actual 134Hz turn of...

Re: IC-208H Adjustment Mode Test Jig

Confirmed the correct value resistor is 22K ohm and NOT 2.2K ohm. Once I put this in place the radio goes into adjust mode perfectly per the service manual procedure.

IC-208H Adjustment Mode Test Jig

Per the sevice manual on page 5-2 I built the test jig using the correct 2.2K ohm resistor. Confirmed all connections but can not get the radio into adjustment mode. The freq is off by -1.5Khz and I need to warp it back on freq. I used the correct procedure on page 5-1 by pushing & holding the SET a...
