The flash (operating code) will do both conventional and EDACS. There are many other variables which would have to be satisfied (frequencies, groups, LIDS, etc) but any flash will work - how well for your needs is another matter. Feature code is what tells the radio what it can and cannot do.

Never heard of an MXD. Are you sure it isn't an MDX? That is programmable with Programmer or EDACS 3(DOS) even if it is conventional.

Takes a suitcase programmer & is a GM-V only radio. Best use for one is as a brick.

How was it last programmed? Some versions of Programmer are not reverse compatible.

If it isn't scanning systems, go to System setup. Click on EDACS. Enable the systems that you want scanned in the "System Being Scanned" window.

There is a small square fuse next to the + battery terminal inside the shield assembly. If that is good, it may be as simple as a bad switch\controller assy which provides a ground to turn the radio on. Unforturnately, they are EXPENSIVE. Good luck.

MVP and MII use the same elements for the same frequencie ranges. The crystal is easily changed but like the M channel element, it will effect your temperature compensation.

Also beware: some early (B)versions of radio code will remove power from the option connector which feed the TQ3370 rib. NO PROGRAM. You must supply power to the RIB to program.
