so about the antenna
Have you noticed a difference as far as reception/transmitting with the short as opposed to the whip?
Also does anyone know the difference between the helical UHF antenna and the regular stubby antenna???
Thanks
David

Do you know anything about the OST (operateable selectable tones)? I am trying to set the radio to be able to change the PL...

Kevin, Pull the channel selector knob straight off the radio. For the next step I have used needle nose pliers. There is a small round nut with two notches in it that is threaded onto the channel selector knob. Unthread that, next you will see the washer with the little notch that sticks up. Take th...

Programming TK 3180
I am having a problem programming the orange aux key as the key lock. I have even tried setting up a different key to lock the keypad, but it does nothing. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Kenwood KMC-25 opinions
Just looking for general opinions of the Kenwood portable mic (KMC-25) We purchased Otto mics when we bought a bunch of TK-380's. Perosnally, they are too big and with thick gloves on its hard to know that you have actually keyed the mic. But don't get me wrong, the Otto mic can take a beating! We h...

FleetSync help
I was told by someone on this board that the Kenwood TK 6/7/890 series mobile radio has the capability to decode FleetSync. Can someone verify that and tell me where that option is located in the programming software. Thanks.

Decoding FleetSync
1. Is there any way the the TK 6/7/890 series radios can decode FleetSync, even if an optional board is required???
2. Will the Zetron 4010 console decode FleetSync, or is a seperate decoder necessary??
