It sounds like you were having a timing issue...there needs to be a signaficant amount of time 300-600ms for the BOT delay so the other radios can hear the FleetSync data.

Kenwood had(?) a public safety mic. It looks just like the KMC-25. If you look at the top of the 25, you can see what looks like a cover for where an antenna should be. This mic only works with the 90 series portables, as they built the antenna connector right into the mic connection. I am unaware o...

According to the spec sheet for the 90 series mobile you need the KRK-7DB for dual band operations.

so FleetSync works with BOT?
If so, then I have to agree that the radio maybe cutting itself off.
Perhaps a timing setting could be to blame as well? What model radio are you using?

Yes they do make a small plastic cap that will cover the antenna port. Any radio shop should be able to provide it. They are threaded and will screw into the antenna connection. You could buy a stubby antenna. I have see this done before with some Motorola radios. Your shortest would be 800MhZ. Good...

If you go with the 180 series mobiles and portables from Kenwood you won't go wrong. You can do FleetSync ID's for the radio so you know who's call. Which is something you can do with Moto or ICOM, etc. The advantage you will find with Kenwood is that you can purchase the programming software and ma...

We are using the 180 series portable and as far as functionality and quality, they are A+. The features packed within this radio are perfect for public safety. Myself and my captain are testing two 3180's right now and so far so good. One of our neighboring towns recently switched to UHF and bought ...
