Re: vx-537 NLA?
:o If they are discoontinued, we have 24 on order for a local fire company and received confirmation of our order being received and ship date of next week. We do not sell too many of them. the vx920/820 is selling like crazy. I will ask our ordering controller to verify, but I beleive it is still a...

Re: Need Help Indentifying This Radio
What u got is a GE/Ericsson MDX VHF mobile radio, 150-174 meg, 40 watt. Unfortunately, they may not go out of band to do the Ham band. I think you need someone well versed in Hex edit hacking. Good reliable radio. The plug out the back was usually for date or other add on stuph.

If uou are setting up as local control, not tone or dc, I beleive you can use the d-sub thing on the back. If you want to control more than one channel, use the zetron tone remote adapter. Most of the 5500's we set up for zetron consoles, we use the zetron tone remote adapter, more flexibility in wh...

 I would go with the 410. Same accessories, same chargers, batteries, ect. We have about 475 out ther so far, only have had maybe 6 come in for service. I do not have any good picture. Lighter and slightly smaller than the 160. If you come across a 420, it will encode/decode MDC1200 with the c...

There are two. One on each side. But when you convert to remote mount, you use the teenie weenie cable from the right side mike jack to the main pc board in the control head, so the right side is basically dead. You need to use the left side radio chassis mike jack. As I said before, it may actually...

Shut off one of the heads. power down the radio. install your programming cable on the left side mike connector on the main radio unit, not the heads. Then hold the first soft key while powering up the radio. You should then get PC clone. Sometimes we have had to disconnect one of the heads from the...
