Nevermind. It's all the same except pins 2 and 3 on the db9 end need to be swapped.

This is what I have in my cable that programs the stealth 501x. I modded the cable just now but it's still a no go. I can't figure out what's wrong. The radio is a 5100 Vhf with version 4.4.4 firmware. I have pcconfigure 1.21, 1.26, and also the new 2.1. Nothing works. DB9--------------------RADIO 1...

5100 series prog. cable

Is it the same as the old 501X stealth 25?

If not, is there a diagram floating around anywhere?

It looks like it uses the same Jedi type radio connector end.

Really...! I figured they wouldn't be that much worse than a big saber. I was watching the mil channel the other night and noticed everyone had them and they were using the tape antennas but they were all wadded up to about a foot in length. What good is that? Doesn't that kind of defeat the range a...

I spoke with them about the clear model. It is available to LEO's but as stated it's not type certified. I was told there are special licensing work arounds for it that are in place in certain areas with deep pockets. Also, the clear model is the PRC-6809 not the PRC-148. I was told they are in the ...

I've seen both the newer 5100 and a few of the old Stealth 501X series on ebay. The new 5100 went for around $700 and the stealths go from anywhere between $100-$700 depending on who sees them and knows what they are.

I found a listing for $1900 once.

For that price I would look into the Datron Guardian. It uses XTS batteries and is a Thales25 inside with all kinds of goodies that come standard.

It's a factory upgrade. I don't think there's any way to do it yourself.

KRY1011612 test and programming box

I got one of these off ebay to see if it would be useful for anything. Inide is a MAX232 chip so I figure I could be used to make a programming interface for all kinds of stuff. I figured I would ask here and save the time of reverse engineering. So, does anyone know of a way to use it in place of a...

Likely it's the larger one for audio. It sounds like a regular ham radio style speaker mic. The PTT and mic are all combined into one cirucuit on the tip of the smaller pin. When it's grounded it activates the ptt and puts the mic cartridge in line in the circuit. The larger pin is just simply speak...

It's either a bad selector or out of band frequencies. If a channel has a frequency that's out of range the radio will just skip it and display something else. Have you tried shorting the side pins and checking all the frequencies? If they are all correct then I would start looking at the channel en...
