You can always program one of your channels to your home freq but with the gues PL. You waste a channel but it will work.

One would wonder HOW APCO cordinated the same freq for two agencies so close.

What part numbers are needed to take a tk-730 32 basic head and a tk-830 99 ch head to a single head dual band config with an alpha head.

I Know I need a new radio head and some cables but what are the part numbers?

I have tk-730 32 channel basic head. Its 150-170mhz. Is there a way to put it into the SP tun mode? other kenwood radio would allow you to just say it was a SP model and you could program other(ham) freq. This one generates an error

You can only program the D models from the computer. The non D are programmed from the front panel.


best way to get the cable is spedn the $20 and get one off ebay.

You can program some but not all functions from the DTMF pad. You can change freq but not label.
