I am not real sure about the 180 and 3200 softwear, but the 900 uses ce39 to program. The cables you will need for the 900 is the vpl-1 and ct-70. I think you can get the vpl-1 with a a USB instead of the 9 pin serial. The ce39 will run in XP just fine.

I got the cables and software from http://www.theantennafarm.com , They seem like a pretty decent place , my order shipped same day
I have dealt with the Antenna farm and they are pretty good. They even stock some Vertex stuff. This guy did once sold me an incorrect cable. But they have a good return policy.shane1041 wrote:I got the cables and software from http://www.theantennafarm.com , They seem like a pretty decent place , my order shipped same day
Another good Vertex dealer is http://www.rfwiz.com They have excellent technical support, and a great website to order parts from.
Vertex has territorial restrictions on new radios, but they can sell parts to anyone.

I have found numerous dealer that sell new radios anywhere , I am in WV and have bought new vertex via the web from FL, and WI, so I dont think vertex watch's too close ( I am glad ) because I can shop around and save the FD money
