Programming high and low power channels

Post by oz_com »

My VX-3000 seems to be permanently stuck on high power (40W). It was programmed when I got it, and since then I have read the code plug:

From the main menu:

Code: Select all

                        CE19 for VX-3000 -- v 1.20

Serial No 12345678 Spacing 10/12.5/15 KHz File 123456.V3K
Privilege Dealer First IF 73.35MHz Split Simplex
Freq Band UHF Prescalar 1/64 COM Port COM1
Capacity 4 CH Ref XTAL 14.4MHz Printer LPT1
GROUP 0 ( 4 Channels) 0 Channels Left
            W T P R S
    DLR USR / Frequency Power SUB AUDIO O E E S E T Lock
Ch# Pri Pri N Receive Transmit Hi Lo Type Dec Enc T N L C Q B FSK Out
  1 - - N 456.78900 456.78900 H L CTCSS 123.4 123.4 √ - - - - - ---- ----

(not the real frequency or tone of course).

And in the configuration,

Code: Select all

╔════════[Front Panel]════════╗
║ Accessory 1 Low Power ║
║ ACcessory 2 Call ║
║ Monitor Enabled ║
║ Off Hook Enabled ║
║ Key Beep Enabled ║
║ Volume 10 ║
║ Mic Sensitivity High ║
╚═════════════════════════════╝

The problem is that the option button does not seem to select low power. Whether I set it to L, M, or H in the software, it puts out about 35 Watts no matter what.

I also have tried programming "both" accessory buttons in the software for low power, though the rig only has one ("A").

Any ideas?

Probably you need to Adjust the L,M,H power settings to the desired levels.
