The Radio Information Board

The board glitched my post so I'll be brief this time...

Before I go ripping out an installed radio I'm wondering if the VX-4200's head is remote mountable? Is it a simple RJ11 or RJ45 cable between head and body or it can't be done? I cannot find any references on the Web about remote kits for this radio. Thanks.

Apparently this model was never meant to have its head remote mounted. I'm going to get some 18-pin FFC connectors and a cables and see what I can do. Maybe make two small circuits with a DB25's and the FFC connectors. Then connect a DB25 cable between them to enable me to remote the head. We'll see how it goes.
