Viking VX Repeater DB9/RJ45 pinouts
I'm attempting to read from a Viking VX repeater and can't get ahold of the the adapter cable. From the documentation it shows an RJ45 patch cable with a generic RJ45 to DB9 housing, like you get at Radio Shack. The question is, what are the pinouts for the DB9 housing?
Although I don't know the pin functions there are only three wires used in the adapter.
On the DB-9 side: 1, 3, & 4
On the RJ-45 side: 7, 6, & 5 respectively
The RJ45 pins are determined by "looking" into the socket with the pins down, and counting from the left.
A standard EFJ mobile programming cable with the RJ45's on each end will work fine with the adapter.
best of luck and Happy Holidays.
