T3011DX KVL -> 5300

Post by flat4turbo »

Okay,

EFJ does not offer a schematic of the 585-5000-938 cable for the 5300. Does anyone have one of these to map the pins, or just have schema for it?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

I have one but I cannot access it from where I am at. When I get back home I'll dig it up for ya F4T.

I haven't seen this cable in person or in pictures, and was told the cable connects directly between the KVL and the mic jack on the control-head. My biggest question about this is whether the cable is straight through or if there's any logic or TTL/RS485/RS232 electronics in-line with it? Wouldn't it require the programming RIB Box or HHCH Junction Box for it to work?

I've attempted to guess/assume/test with a cable I made, but I've had no luck in figuring out which pins need shorting to put it into keyload mode (I've tried the "Key Fail" and ground to no avail). Reinforcing my assumption is I had noticed there (appears to be) a Keyload Indicator pin, but only when the HHCH junction box is in use, in addition to a Key Fail pin, which is also already present in the mic-jack. But I haven't been able to get much further than this.

This is as far as my speculation and curiosity have taken me.
