Efj es5300 always on

Good day everyone.
I have an es5300 that is constantly on. As soon as power is applied, it's on. The on/off does nothing. It works fine other than that. The accessory plug/ignition sense has no effect. It's on with or without the ignition sense. No extra key press shutdown is programmed.
Any ideas?
Also, how do I open this unit up without breaking something? Ha. Yeah I'd rather not do that.
