radio interface box - GE p/n:TQ3330
a computer to r.i.b. cable
r.i.b. to rangr cable - http://www.hallelectronics.com/getech/tq3331.gif

An alternative to the GE TQ3330 r.i.b. is the P96A from Price Industries
http://www.priceindustries.com
They also sell assorted r.i.b. to radio cables.

The P96A is billed as a replacement tor the TQ3370 not the TQ3330. I think the only Rangr you can program with the TQ3370 is EDACS Rangr.

You can also use the suitcase programmer for conventional Delta/Rangr

It's true the Price P96A is a replacement for the TQ3370 as there is nothing available to replace the TQ3330.

Also correct that you can only program EDACS Rangr's with the 3370.

Seems it would be easier to find a 3330 rib than investing in the suitcase programmer.

Firemanbatt, looks like if you only need to program 1 or 2 of them it would just be easier to take them to a dealer. Though it appears that you are an hour + away from any town big enough to support a radio shop.

So what you guys are saying is that the P96A will not program the S825 head? Or will it? If not, what RIB will program an S825 and does Price have it? Thanks.

The P96a is a replacement for the TQ3370 so it will work to program the S825 control head. So it will work indirectly to program the Rangr if the S825 (and the jumpers in the radio) is set to download. To use the Rangr with the S550 head you will need the TQ3330 and PC software or the suitcase.

ranger programming

Post by kc4sbj »

if you have the 990 head you can programm the radio from the head their another head that you can programm from the head so depin on the control head you may have. if you have the 600 or the 550 head you will have to have a rib box that is the easy way if you are going to do it yourself. If you know someone that has one it is best if you as them to show you how to used it before you go and buy one
