Icom IC-7000 appears to be kind of deaf on VHF/UHF

I recently purchased (2) IC-7000's at about 30 day intervals and both seemed to exhibit the same characteristics on VHF/UHF. I found that everyday repeaters I can get into and receive with no difficulty, were at 30-40% down in signal strength. Only on the VHF/UHF bands. HF (WOW) what a little Radio, works absolutely perfect on all HF Bands.
The first of the two radios was sent to an Icom repair center and the report given was: the radio meets and exceeds Icom specifications on all bands. Along with that diagnosis, they said not to compare the FM only Mobiles with these multi-mode radios like the 7000. I have had an Icom IC-706 MKIIG since it was new and that multi-mode radio has never exhibited this situation. I have checked any and all settings including hard reset and find that nothing effects the lower sensitivity on VHF/UHF.
I am wondering if other IC-7000 operators have found the same concern with their 7000. Any and all information will be appreciated...MD in SC
