Help with Programming IC-F30LTM

Post by willbartlett »

Hello all. I am having a bear of a time trying to program my F30-LT-M (marine). I have the ex1489M version of the software, and the OPC-427 cable, But I keep getting Com port errors when trying to read from the radio. Any particulars with regards to com port settings? I read the readme that comes with the land mobile software, references to turning off the FIFO? Never seen this before.

Help, Will

FIFO=First In First Out
That means that the data is sent in order that it is received in buffer. I have never had to turn this off but it is there for a reason.
Are you surd that you are using the correct com port?

Problem with Programming

Post by Radioactive »

Hi,
The reason that you get the error is because you are not running it in DOS mode.
Not within windows (don't click on ms-dos prompt on desltop) you need to reboot into dos.
So when the computer is starting hit the F8 key a few times.
That will take you to the safe mode bootup.
Then hit the Comand Prompt Only key.
Then run the ICOM software.
It sould then run ok.
Hope that helps you.
