Problems with Kenwood TK-730H 110watt VHF

Post by millerchief »

Hi,

Put on your thinking caps!!!!!!!

I got a problem with my Kenwood TK-730-
1stoff- I turned it on with the program cable in and got the PG prompt on screen.

Computer booted up to C:\
went to kpg7d directory and started to plug the programmer into the serial port and I noticed that the screen had cleared.

Attempted to turn it back on and the only thing I get is a weak beep and nothing else on screen and it will not tx or rx now.

I thought maybe the head had a problem (remote mount) changed it, SAME problem.

Pulled the power maybe to reset it No Luck!

Does anyone have any idea what happened.

TK730 Problem

It turns out that something went bad in the KRK-2 head that was on the rf deck. Had it replaced and was back in service.
