TK880 Version 2

Post by Muggsy09 »

Is there anyway to tell if a TK880 is a Version 1 or Version 2 without looking at the sticker on the back. Like with the TK380, the version 2 radios have a RED triangle above the "W" in Kenwood and the version 1's have a white triangle. Anyway to tell with like that with 880?

The TK-880 Version 2 radios have an orange Kenwood Logo, whereas the Version 1 radios have a white logo.

By serial number, by the boot up message if programmed to display the version number at power up, by the colored triangle and by reading the version number in software.

As a Kenwood Dealer, I have firmware flash upgrades for the tk-880 and tk-780... actually for all Kenwood radios. You local Kenwood Dealer should help you out.

cheers,
