Kenwood TK-380 programming password

Post by Orlando »

I have had 2 Kenwood TK-380 radios programmed in the last 4 months at a local radio shop. I have recently purchased another radio (same kind) and it came with the programming software. When I attempted to read from the radios I have already,it's asking me for a password. Does anyone know how I can bypass this so I can just copy from one TK-380 to my new unprogrammed one?

We have ran into this quite often. The only way to figure out the password is to either try all few thousand different combination's of numbers or send it back to Kenwood and they can break the password. I think when you send it to Kenwood, they basically wipe the radio. That won't help you. Just ask who programmed them what the password is.Thank you.

The person at the radio shop who had it programmed no longer works there so we tried what we could. I just simply had to wipe it myself and reload it. I had to loose a few frequencies I needed though. Thanks.
