In need of information on programming a VHF mobile model 70-13336.
Where does the programming cable connect to the radio?
Which software is used to program this radio?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Midland 70-1336 programming information needed
On the right side near the front of the radio there is a rubber flap covering the programming port. It's a 10 pin connector similiar to the header on an old computer mobo where a com port would be connected (2 rows of 5 pins).jim202 wrote:In need of information on programming a VHF mobile model 70-13336.

The actual Midland part number for the cable is 70-1308 (good luck finding one - I'd like to find one myself).
I believe the latest version of software for it is called XTRv3 (don't know the Midland p/n). The Yahoo Group "MidlandLMR" has a schematic available to build your own prog cable.
There is a guy in Vancouver that sells these cables. I have bough one and it works great.
He is on ebay:

I have a schematic of the programmer posted on the board. Look for the topic "Midland Syn-Tech II/XTR Programming Cable" in the Midland forum. Last time I checked, the weblinking part of BBCode didn't seem to be working properly, so you may have to copy and paste the link to the image.
