IC-F3G 7.5 kHz spacing

Post by aaknitt »

Hi all,

We have a few IC-F3G portables here and I'm having some trouble with getting the software to take some narrowband channels with 7.5 kHz spacing. Some of them work just fine. For instance, if I try to put in the VTAC channels, VCALL (155.7525), VTAC1 (151.1375), VTAC3 (158.7375) and VTAC4(159.4725) will work just fine, but it won't let me put in 154.4525 for VTAC2. The closest I can get is 154.45. The same thing happens on some of our local fireground channels...some of the 7.5 kHz spaced channels work, but for others the software won't let me input them.

According to the specs for these radios they should be capable of 7.5 kHz spacing. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

F3G

It wont take the I-Tac channels. It does not have a 2.5 pll referance. We just shipped a mess of those back and ordered the F33 for that exact reason. There are no plans to change the unit.

How do they get away with saying that it will do 7.5 kHz spacing if it doesn't have a 2.5 kHz PLL reference? That blows. Radio salesmen are as bad as used car salesmen...worse in some ways. Jeesh.

Well if you have a decent saleman, he will refund you and get you the F33G, or the newer F3021 (about the same price as the F3G). I did the exact same for my customers.
