VX-P920

Post by rayjk110 »

Does anyone have the Vertex Part #. for the P929 portable? I just snagged one of these at a local pawn shop, and I'm unfamiliar with the programming of Vertex Standard equiptment. Just looking for the Vertex P/N, not asking for software...

I don't have your answer, but looks like a very interesting radio. I stumbled across Missouri Radio's web site and it has several different models of the VX-929 shown. VHF, UHF, Intrinsically Safe (WOW! Are they proud of those models!).

I suspect you are going to need to talk to a dealer.
I don't know much about 2-way radios but I'm over 50 and can't remember not having one around. Everything from Buddy and Citi-fone to Icom and Kenwood.

It's neat, and suprisingly rugged for Vertex stuff (never was a huge fan, but this radio is OK)

It's got a test channel (analog) and a few weather frequencies but that's it. I was hoping to compare the DSP audio to my 5k's or to my XTL, but as stated I don't have any software to program it yet. I've heard Vertex is cool with their software so I may call them tomorrow after work and see if it's something not too expensive. It also looks like it can be FPP, but I do not know if this is a featre set thing or something as simple as a software check-box.

VX-P929 is the Vertex Part #

929 denotes full keypad w/ display

VX-P929-D0-5 = VHF P929
VX-P929-G7-5 = UHF P929

Looks like I misunderstood the question....

The Vertex Part # for the VX-P920 and VX-P820 series programming software is: CE76

Thanks for the reply.

The Department I work for ended up buying a few, and ended up getting it programmed. I'll save the part number for future reference.

Thanks!
