I was at a local fire department today working on repairs of a repeater. The fireman there showed me there new radios. They were Kenwood TK 690 / 790 dual band dual head. On the head they have a button labled RPT. If you push it it state repeater on the display. I glanced around but did not see any other box except the uhf and lowband drawer.
Is this a programming feature ? I have one of these units in my truck, but never saw it in the programming anywhere.
Any one seen or used one of these ?

Repeater
Andy,
I thought it was a crossband repeater, but didn't know how to set it up. Is it just a programming feature ? In talking to the chief, it appears this must be a setup thing in the software as they have no way to change the lowband or UHF freq. I'll have to check my software. That would be a really nice feature to have.
