I am trying to install a Motorola local remote to a new Kenwood TK-7180 does anyone have the pinout for the db25 on the rear of the radio or should I use the rj-45 mic conn on front and the speaker jack on rear? Thanks in advance Joe

Re: TK-7180 to local remote hookup
You could use mic jack, but then you couldn't use a microphone.
Wire up db-25 and plug into back.
Pin 6 = MIC IN
Pin 7 = Ground
Pin 17 = RX Audio 700mV p-p
Pin 25 = MIC Ground
You need to assign PTT and Monitor to an AUX I/O via software
and wire to pins on db-25
Pin 24 = aux I/O 1
Pin 23 = aux I/O 2
Pin 22 = aux I/O 3
Pin 21 = aux I/O 4
Pin 20 = aux I/O 5
If it's a motorola local remote, you will have to crank the mic drive wayyyy down
to run a kenwood.
