Ok. The question the chief had for me is, will the stock head that come with the radio work, and what does the kit contain? Rought street price? The answer you are looking for is YES. Not sure on pricing, but either the standard or advanced control heads for the x90 series radios in the remote moun...

I too have a 690 that I want to get on 6 meters, but I am in the same boat.

Although the tuning of it seems to be similar to the 30 series mobiles. Problem is getting the software to play nicely the way you want.

It's a matter of finding and editing the softwares bandsplit table or database. It was easily found and edited in the DOS software. I'm still working on the Windows software, although it's becoming quite the project. For ha ha's I tried a decompiler to see if I could get the source code... Boy oh bo...

For example 136 wou...

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can read and write the radio yes?

If you want a wider frequency area can't you just hex edit the Edacs3.exe file and widen up the band split?

Once you know what to look for it'e really simple to do.

Can I ask a silly question?

Why couldn't this problem have been dealt with in a PM or 2 to keep from dragging someone's dirty laundry into a public forum?

Just my 2 cents :ignore:

How is the move made? Can it be done after the radio has been programmed with Windows Programmer 8?

Can anyone point me in the direction I need to go in getting a 35-50 GE Orion into the 6M amateur band?

I have Programmer 8 which I think won't do me much good......

Any help would be hot.
