Re: Firmware upgrade for MDC1200 for a TK-7180
You must also have the newest software too. I upgraded my TK-2180 and it wasn't hard at all. F1FF is the correct/current firmware, in case you didn't know.

Re: Does anyone recognize this inversion module - please help
That looks to be a Transcrypt board. Can you tell me what it says on the white paper? Most time, all you have to do is reinstall a jumper pr resistor on the receive and transmit audio paths. I'll look in our notes tomorrow and see what you have to do to install a transcrypt board into a 830. We insta...

Re: TK-890 Radio # 2 of Dual Band to Single Band
As I said in the other post, you have to solder in 3 jumpers and 1 micro fuse. I had to do this on my 890 setup as well to upgrade the firmware. Our service tech can perform this service for you for a small fee. I'll check and see how much it would cost to do this. Thank you.

Re: TK 890 help
I had a similar problem. I had a 890 that I needed to update the firmware in. In order to this you had to make the second radio a single band radio. To do this you must put back in 3 jumpers and 1 fuse. We can do this service for you for a small fee. We are a authorized Kenwood dealer and our tech h...

Re: Kenwood TK-380 programming password
We have ran into this quite often. The only way to figure out the password is to either try all few thousand different combination's of numbers or send it back to Kenwood and they can break the password. I think when you send it to Kenwood, they basically wipe the radio. That won't help you. Just as...

Problem with 690/890 DB setup.
I have a TK-690/890 dual band(low band 40-50 Mhz, UHF 450-470Mhz) setup. The low band is a 100 watt and the UHF is a 45 watt unit. The low band works just fine but every once in a while the UHF will not transmit. The light will not come on or anything. If you try to transmit on a channel with no tra...

Re: KMC18A
As cheap as new mic is, I would recommend replace the mic. The new mic looks odd, but is the only 6 pin mic available. List is around $35.00 or so. I don't believe their is anything that can be fixed in a 730 mic to begin with. I do have an extra mic that I can sell you if you want to get one.Just l...

Older/newer programming for TK-790H problem
I just bought a TK-790H off Ebay. The radio works fine and is all programmed and ready to go, except the firmware is older in the radio. It won't let me program the fleetsync into the radio. I have 2 different firmware's that I have tried to put into the radio and neither seem to help. Is there any ...

Programming question about 730G/830G's.
I am needing a dual band radio for my fire department.I have found some TK-730G and 830G radios.I have heard that the G model indicates that it is narrow band capable,is this correct? If so,what programming software do you use for the X30 "G" model radios? The radio tech at work knows very ...
