Re: vx-900

Ok, I had this saved... I can't remember where it came from (here I think) but it is for the standard vx-900, not the USFS model because it is different and takes the instructions linked above. No mods are done to the standard model and the 'key' just shorts pin 3 and 7. This is what the "key&q...

The VX-900 is still performing well here. It's been dropped, got wet, been thru a typical life as a volunteer fire dept. radio that goes everywhere with you. It does page off randomly when a certain voice of a dispatcher comes over, guess she "speaks our tone" lol. I had a programming key ...

Yeah I've noticed the increase in Vertex being brought up too at batlabs, but it always seems to me that it is when I am hitting the submit button. LoL I'm not the only one saying it there though. For the price and quality, motorola can't compete in this class. My departments not going digit...

For around $1000 each we got radio, speaker mic, rapid drop charger, the high capacity battery, leather swivel case, and programming. It seems the price will vary depending on your location in the country though. We're buying more soon, maybe keypad versions if it will be a firmware update to enable...

Yeah, same size (or very close), but it has a different connector on the side. Might be the same connector as the VX-900/600. (95% sure it is. look at the specs, see if its the same speaker mic.)

What I did after lots of searching was to email Vertex/Stanard sales and then they put me in touch with the district rep here who put me in contact with a close dealer. vertexstandard@vxstdusa.com It might be a few days or a week getting a reply from your district rep, but that address worked for me...

Guess you'll be switching!

I just programmed 144.000 into mine and it TX and RX just fine. So all is good for the whole 2 meter band.

Yes the speaker mic is very nice. I love mine.
Radio is working great, no complaints, hasn't had any hard use yet though.

Well I haven't had that problem with the VX-900, but I have found that the radio does strange things if you turn it on with the programming calbe attached. I usally just leave it off till it says "turn the radio off then back on", then turn it on and the display will read "PC PROG&quo...

VX-900 review (ongoing with time)

Well this is my initial review of the VX-900 radio and software (windows) after about a week using it. Overall I find that it has a good feel, seems very well built, and performs quite well. It is slightly smaller than an HT1000 and a little bigger than an HT1250. It has the FNB-V69LI battery (7.4v ...

Well I got some replies over at the BatLabs board, here's the link for the topic. http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=10469 Our department ordered 2 radios to try out so I will give a complete review of what I think of them in a few weeks. Curious what people think of the audio, I've heard a...

VX-900 users

Hi, I'm wanting to hear what people who are using the VX-900 think about it. Our fire department is looking at them as an alternative to getting Motorola HT1250's. We currently have HT1000's, a few MT1000's, GP300's, and 3 or 4 Kenwood models. We use our radios for both recieving the page call, and ...
