FLASHED MPA!!!
In my previous post, I was having trouble accessing the edacs radio (628 controler) through the mpa software, looks like I was using the wrong program. I downloaded the edacs1 program from the radtek site and it worked fine, I was able toe re-initialize the radio with no issues. I have to say, GE ra...

MPA Programming/flashing
Well, I got the MPA with a 19D903081G1 controller programmed using a max233cpp and a sn74ls04 hex inverter with a 7805 regulator on the battery supply from the radio. In reviewing the controller schematic, there are a couple of hex inverters within the radio, apparently fo no other purpose than to r...

Kenwood programmer
Try this: http://krasnodar.online.ru/hamradio/kpg22.htm I have used a Maxim max233cpp in place of all of the circutry, it works perfectly. Only additional parts would be a 7805 and a 10uf electrolytic cap for filtering and power supply, fed from the +8 of the mic jack. A little reverse engineering m...

It's actually 896-902 and 935-941, those are the tx and rx sections of the 900 mHz commercial band. It should be capable of conv and LTR, probably capable of at least 8 channel or systems. Likely won't do the ham band easily. I've talked to a few folks about this, and I believe it would require some...

The TK-340 can be self programmed, but it requiers a membrane keypad that gets installed behind the display. You can enter the programming by shorting inside either the 2nd or 3rd slot with a small jewles screwdriver, but I don't reccommend doing this too often, as the contacts are on a very thin PC...
Never got the 210 in trade, but I have talked to one owner who is very dis-satisfied with the Pl muting on this radio. Seems that the PL goes to carrier for 3 seconds after the PL on the recieved signal drops, even when the radio is set up for PL only unmute. No such problem with DPL, but apparently...

Seen this happen at least twice. Unfortunately, It requires a cpu replacement, and I have been told that even that is not a foolproof fix. With Most Icom radios, you will get a DOA symptom when the Lithium battery goes, restoreable by removing the dead battery, shorting the contacts, and replacing t...

Hey there. If the radio wasn't set up for self programming, you'll need to get a cable at least once to enable the self programming feature. Drop me an email when you get one, and I'll walk you through it. I may have the steps saved from a previous email, too long to type at work today. Good luck, W...

Hi There. I may have one. I had a couple of the g71s' I bought as doorstops and made one work as a scanner. Do you get a message saying rnge or dc on the display? I know there is a module inside the radio that will cause a failure if it becomes disconnected. I'll look around, but I've moved since I ...
