Vertex VXR 7000 Programing

I have a VXR 7000 that I can program with the CE27 software. There are other options that according to the owners manual must be programed by a dealer. Is there any way around this? I only need 1 option changed. Hate to pay a dealer just for that.
TIA

TK-809T

The TK-809T is 438-470 MHz radio. The software to program it is KPG-20D. I f you need a programing cable, look at ebay. The seller is kawamall, the part #T0D0F21. I have used his cable on the Kenwood TK840, TK-809T, and the TK349.

Found out that the mic does not have to be connected. This repeater has a burned rectifier diode, thats why no front led's. I powered it up with a 12 volt battery, and now the transmitter continually operates.

RP4520 UHF Repeater

Will this repeater operate without the HM-4 microphone connected?
Purchased this radio used, and all that it does is light the power lamp green. All other led's do not light. Cooling fan does not run.
It looks like I might have got hosed on this set.
TIA,
Lou

Kenwood TK 340D programming

I am trying to program the TK 340D with the KPG-9D software. I am booting up in true DOS. All the software will do is flash between the 2 Quick Help files. I tried to manual programm the radio, but that would not work. When I shorted the 3rd pin from the left it displayed either FR or ER. It did not...

Brad, is the function a button on the side of the radio? Plugged the programing cable in, and got no response from pushing any of the buttons. Any ideas?
Thanks, Lou
