Problem solved. I had tried writing several saved files to the radio. I got wrong model number errors. I tried to write the last file I had and it wrote to the radio. I then edited the file for my needed frequencies and wrote to the radio. Modulation was low and PL tone was very low. I went to test ...

242-7510 programming
I need to program a 242-7510. I tried Icom CSF3G for windows and it did not work. Will CS-F3 for DOS work? What is the Johnson part for the software? Will the ICOM cable work? What is the Johnson number for the cable? Is there a Yahoo group for Johnson?

Shinwa
Seems like there were two models. One model could be programmed by keypad and other model required an eprom burner. This model can be returned to Shinwa for programming.

TK805D VCO ?
I have a TK805D that sputters and PL tone is unstable if I transmitt with less than 13 volts for supply. I am thinking VCO adjustment. Is TP3 the VCO test point? I measure 4.05 volts on receive and 7.7 on transmitt there. Is this normal? Where is adjustment?

RPV516A
I just programmed a RPV516A and have these comments. Scan seems a little slow. When using priority scan, there is too much gap in the received audio. Also, when using two-tone decode on a communications channel, there is not a way to know if receiver is set to monitor or is muted.
