Prospect62, just checking to see if you ever got your S825 programmed up... Since the previous thread had lots of distractions, I thought I would ask in a new post.
The 8xx series is not the easiest to program for someone that is new to that game. If the mic is connected to the head during programming, it must be hung up or you will get the flashing "MONITOR" on the display. Usually, you can just disconnect the mic altogether & that will stop the problem. If everything is connected up right, the 8xx just displays the flashing "PROGRAM" when it's ready.
Building personalities are a bit complicated as well. The help screens are rather useless...

No luck yet, but I haven't toyed with it in awhile. The thing that puzzles me is that I am powering the head through the mic coneector port on the back. The mic ISN'T connected...go figure. And the "monitor" message doesn't flash, it's just there. Does this give you any more ideas? Thanks for the help!! Maybe this will rekindle my interest in it so I can get it up and running.

Now this puzzles me as well... What exactly do you mean by this?Prospect62 wrote:The thing that puzzles me is that I am powering the head through the mic coneector port on the back. The mic ISN'T connected...go figure.
You are not using the power/speaker connector to power it? I don't understand what you are implying here... you a hooking power up to the db9? I hope not.
On another note, the power/spkr connector looks just like the one used for the S-550 head. BEWARE! The 550 connector has 2 extra wires on it that will damage the 8xx head if connected to it! (Burnt PCB traces, etc)
