Programming TH-G71 & TM-G707

I have a TH-G71 & TM-G707 that I am tryiong to program using Kenwood MCP- software from Kenwood. I am using MS Vista OS for this.

I keep getting "COM port is invalid, please check status"

Can anyone advise whats going on ????

How are you connecting the radio to the computer? USB, Serial port?
