TK-730 frequency splits

Post by kc7ewz »

Hi
I was wondering if the two splits for TK-730 mentioned on this group (136-156) and (150 - 170) have different components in them or are they just tuned to the different ranges?

ie. can a low split "canadian" tk-730 be tuned thru the vco to allow frequencies up to 160?
I was thinking from reading your excellent posts that there were two distint types of radios, then I find that a tk-730 we have in one of our emergency positions is working perfectly from 145 - 171. Now I am confused.

Thanks

They use different componets,in the 2 ranges. However, they do go out of band ,tolerences in different radios will vary,so some will go farther out of band than others. All you can do is try yours to see what it will do!
