KCH-5 QUESTION

Post by dirtslinger »

I just got a kch-4 alpha head and the kch-5 upgrade came with it. My question is do you need to remove the R-156 and the r-33. I am new to this radio stuff and am not real sure how to remove them if they need to be removed. The instructions I have seem a little confusing. I put the new kch-5 chips in and it all works fine. I am thinking if I take out the r-33 and r-156 that will take it from 32 channels to 160.

I was also wondering can the auxilary speaker be hooked up to the 6 pin on the remote head instead of running the wire from the trunk to the driver area?

1st question, yes remove those resistors, either with a soldering iron or clip it in the middle with dikes.

2nd question, yes remove the jumper from pins 4 and 5,connect the speaker to pins 5 and 6.
