Taking the 690 OOB by 1MHz?

Post by Twisted_Pear »

I'm looking for a newer alternative for lowband and am considering the TK690. The only problem is I'd need the upper split (FCC ending in 130) to do 39MHz. All the specs I read say 40MHz is as low as it goes.

Is this a simple software mod or a bench tweaker?

You need the TK-690-2. It does 35-43 Mhz. FCC # is ALH22923120

I just tried the DOS version of KPG44D and it accepted down to 30.0 MHZ
using the High split. I know the radio will not lock down this low,but you should be good at 39.0 MHZ.

I thought I was clear...the previous info was from the 40-50 bandsplit software,it will accept your 39.0 meg freqs, and should work well.

One of the things I like about the Kenwood FPU; they'll tell you that the frequency is out of range, but they'll let you enter it in anyway
