Programming GE S-825 Control Head

Post by Maddog949 »

Here is a questions for all you seasoned programmers out there. Feel free to laugh. But while programming the S825 control head, must you provide the 13.8V power supply to the control head while programming it, or can it be programmed without being powered-up. Thanks

Its a fair question.

In order to program the head you must have power applied to it.

Ok, on the back of the control head there should be a two leads a yellow (may or may not have the fuse depending on how it was de-installed) and a black which are attached to J4 pin 3 & J4 pin 8 respectively.

The yellow is + black ofcourse is - ground.

That should light you up.

Ok, I was thinking that the power had to be provided though the J1 connector, i didn't realize that you could do it though J4. That will make life a little easier, i'll give it a shot. Thanks
