Can anyone tell me how to keep Lamp on longer then 5 sec on Kenwood TK-2180 !

Doesn't seem to be anyway to keep the backlight on more than 5 secs, I use the auto backlight option so it turns the back light on whenever I press a key or move the channel selector knobs. Vertex made a nice option on their handhelds that would let the backlight come on when squelch opened, so you could see what channel it stopped on.
