ck pin 2 of your radio for voltage.
I am assuming you are using the correct software?

I wish I could help,but I am all out of ideas.....mine works for me and I am using win 98 and XP,ok on both.

I did not change my connector...if you align the locking tab ,it will plug in and work.I have made an adapter for my 8 pin cable down to 6 pin ,and it also works on 6 and 8 pin radios using the 6 pin adapter.
if you insert your 6 pin cable into an 8 pin plug and skip the 2 outside pins it will be correct.

One simple solution exist - just plug 6-pin connector to 8-pin radio. Yes, just plug w/o any adapters & etc.

It works!

Those two pinouts are the same minus the wire on the end (I don't have terminal functions in front of me)...I too use the 6 pin and 8 pin interchangeably...mostly on x80/x180 but I grab whichever one my hand lands on first
