TK-730H and the elements

Post by KC5CNT »

I am curious if this unit is weather proof? Meaning that I could place the RF deck in the engine compartment or some other remote location and the remote head inside the cab. What is everyone's opinion on this?

Not coffee, soda, or oil-proof either. Keep the drawer unit someplace dry and away from the vehicle operator and vehicle operating systems, if possible. I found out the hard way that hydraulic oil and these 30 series drawer units don't get along.

I was just mainly curious if it would be able to live under the hood as I have a massive amount of space in there.

I would be more worried about the heat and vibration under the hood. Not a good place to mount any radio!
