I recently purchased an M-PA scan uhf radio labled AEGIS, when powering on with monitor button pressed it shows I7026M03 and group 8. I don't much else to provide so I will go over everything on the radio...

The problem is I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I bought it... I need a good uhf radio for the 450-470 range, and I didn't pay any attention... Stupid e-bayer, I know! I am already going to have to get it re-tuned because it is like 403-425 or something like that... my big question is: 'Can I use this radio on a non-trunking system?' Again, I am not that knowledgeable in all this, and feel really stupid for my purchase in the first place, any help that can be provided will help tremendously.

I take it that I need to get a new board? I would def get all the same bells and whistles so it isn't a let down to the next owner. Also, I can read, but I just need to clarify... I can use the same setup on a non trunking system?
And thanks for the input so far.

An EDACS MPA has the capacity for 48 conventional (non-trunked) channels.jcpd9720 wrote:I can read, but I just need to clarify... I can use the same setup on a non trunking system?
You can program an EDACS MPA with all conventional-only channels if
you want without any trunking at all......
If you need more channels, the non-trunking model MPA will be
a better choice as they will do around 192 channels......
