The Radio Information Board

I took a 280 apart to tighten the antenna connector screws on the top of the radio and was putting it back together when I found a small"M" if you will kinda like the McDonald's arch. Can someone tell where this little bugger goes. Probably around the connector inside, but I have not a clue.
