I have a Zetron ZMX mic that was configured for a Johnson Challenger. Does anyone know how to swap the pins and jumpers so it will work on a 30 series mobile? thanks, PL.

Thanks for the info. It also has 6 jumpers inside that might need reconfigured.

As far as I know ...both radios had a 600 ohm mic,so the jumpers should be OK unless they were for auto PTT timing and tone length....but if it worked elsewhere,it should work for you.

I sent an email to Zetron in the UK and they sent me the manual. I tried to hook it up and no luck. I'll have to fiddle with it.

Make sure that the 1 amp fuse that feeds the a+ to pin 1 is not blown.

Okay I got it to work. However due to Zetron tying the grounds together it is picking up alternator whine again. Kenwood has separate grounds for PTT and Mic audio. If anyone needs info on the Zetron ZMX/ZML mics I'm happy to help. PL

Right about seperate grounds...but if you OHM out between the grounds...they are at the same pontential!...go figure!Stranger things have happened in our radio world!
